Turn Your Employees into Brand Ambassadors
Are your employees also your brand advocates? If not, it’s time to turn your employees into brand ambassadors.
Your employees can be your greatest tool for improving your business, increasing your marketing efforts, and building credibility for your company. More than 84% of consumers say they completely trust or somewhat trust recommendations from family and friends. Word-of-mouth marketing has been shown to improve marketing efforts by more than 54%. This means that by turning your employees into brand ambassadors, you have much more influence over your target audience. But how do you turn your employees into brand ambassadors? Let’s discuss a few ideas.
1. Improve Employee Engagement
When employees are excited and actively involved in the company and its mission, they are more willing to talk about it and share their positive experiences with others. You want employees to understand the company’s mission and goals. You need employees to trust the company and its leadership. Plus, when you build credibility and engagement among employees, you also reduce the risk of turnover.
2. Encourage Sharing Content on Social Media Channels
Your employees’ social media channels can expand your reach. Encourage your employees to share the latest marketing videos, blog posts, event promotions, etc., on their own channels. However, to truly make this effective, you want to ensure the company is creating content that the employees actually want to share.
3. Step Outside of the Office
Some of your best marketing experiences can be when your employees work together outside of the office. For example, consider a company softball team or sponsoring an event at the local park. These events not only help unite your team but it gives them a chance to talk to others away from the office setting and they can more easily speak up about the company, its mission, and goals.
4. Be Transparent
According to a survey, 46% of respondents said that a lack of transparency was a main reason they were looking for a new job. When employees feel like the leadership in their company is open and transparent, they feel more secure in their job and in the company itself. A transparent workforce plays a critical role not only in building credibility in the company, but also in the engagement of its employees’ productivity, communication, and work ethic.
5. Offer Incentives
Be willing to offer incentives and rewards for employees who are willing to open their mouth and talk about your company to others. These incentives could be something simple such as being entered into a drawing for sharing a social media post and tagging the company. Or, they could receive a monetary prize for referring a new client. Look at your company and determine how you can offer incentives to your employees who are willing to be a brand ambassador. The more excitement you can create with your employees, the more success you will have.
Encouraging your employees to become a brand ambassador starts in your day-to-day routines. How you treat employees, the benefits you offer, and the processes you implement affect how willing and excited each of your employees will be to talk about your company with their friends, family, and other associations.
